it used to be USD 1000/- now it is between to USD 1300-1400/-. Relatively cheap compared to aftermarket.

yes, excluding shipping ofcourse.

Colder air = more dense = more fuel in A/F ratio = more hp. Yes you will see an increase in hp but i can't comment on how much.

Rather I see upgraded ICs as a way of preventing heat soak ie preventing loss of power.

does that mean no additional gain in power but rather preserve the existing one?

I assume you can look at the ICs both ways, but once I realized removing the ICs was part of the exhaust install AND they are only $1300 it seemed like a no-brainer to do both at the same time.

But you still need a tune, I installed Cobb stage1 before starting the install, very nice change

you are right, makes perfect sense to change them if you already do the exhaust...

can't decide on which tune, seems like many good ones out there

Lots of choices from good tuners, so I did decide based on "other" factors. Being able to change tune and return to stock (before taking the car to the dealer) as well as being able to read and clear codes are essential imo.

The Cobb also can be used as a extra set of gauges showing realtime data

Be sure to check 997.2 IC's before fitment. make pressure test on them.

They are prone to leak...even brand new ones
