That is the thing, it is just a Boxer motor...like any Porsche or Subaru out there.

The Subaru XT6, SVX, Legacy, Outback and Tribeca all use the same engine design and I promise you dont cost $12k in labor to do a swap of connecting rods.

It doesnt have to be a huge build, I am talking connecting rods and head studs.

OEM parts including oil pump, bearings, gaskets etc 4600 euro
Custom top fuel sleeves 2400 euro
Custom top fuel pistons 1500 euro
Valvetrain, valveguides and big porting 5000 euro
Custom head studs 1500 euro

Total 15000 euro

Its 3.8ltr high CR, high revving engine, can hold up to 1800hp

... 15k euro = 20500 USD. Plus labor of 100 hours = 10K. 30k USD build.... Unless you included labor in there, in which case still its a 20k build, which is what many of us have been quoted for a basic build. So, you're right in line with everyone else.

I wouldn't say that at all really. He's getting pistons, sleeves, headwork and porting. He didn't mention connecting rods in his list so that is probably more cost...

At any rate, the 'basic' builds we're talking about are putting rods in, new headstuds, and maybe swapping the oil pump.

I've never gotten a quote but I believe the pricing is similar. I'm not sure if there as many options for them though.
