COBB With IC's the Journey Begin
As mentioned earlier, on the GIAC pump gas map I ran 129-130, DA was ~1800 that day and temp was in the 90s°, track was close to sea level. Although I had race gas in the tank, that shouldn't really matter because the gas itself doesn't make power.
I have some data with running 1/4 mile at Famoso with my pump tune. With tune plenum only, I did a 10.64 at 129.38 on the 91 pump file with about 93-94 octane.
It was very interesting because I was first running the race file that day but getting really poor traps like high 128's and I was disappointed since I was getting 130 a few weeks earlier with tune, plenum and race gas with a best trap of 130.3mph.
As it turns out after speaking with GIAC, I was running a mix of 91 pump and some really crappy "race" fuel, which actually wasn't good fuel at all.
I had mixed 91 pump gas with VP100 out of the pump at a Unocal 76 station in Newport Beach. This VP100 is only 97 motor octane and is actually really ****ty gas (according to GIAC) just pump gas mixed with toluene and some other crap. Mixing a few gallons of this with my 91, I was probably at only 93-94 effective octane and so my race gas file was protecting itself by reducing timing. Simply switching to the 91 pump tune gained me 1 mph.

I don't know if that's good but it seems ok. You are full bolt on and the other FBO cars are doing 134-135 on race tune so yeah maybe they would do 132 on pump tune. <br />

My 129.x on pump was only pump tune and plenum

Ok but your "assuming" they will do 132, until we see that happen it's a theory
And 3mph short of a full mods/race gas/very good DA its very very good hehehe

Next week by end of week I'll have 93 and race gas 1/4 + 60-130 data
And why do you say 3mph "short of full mods" because you have the same mods as the Champion car except race gas tune. Remember they did their 9.8 in the South Florida heat.
They are very good times/traps to the 1/4 with just a tune, exhaust and plenum. I have been monitoring some of the COBB cars for 60-130 etc and the dynoed numbers. I understand a pro tuned COBB 997.1 with stage 2 (tune, exhaust + 93 octane) is doing near on 7.0 secs 60 to 130 mph, not sure about 1/4 mile (the car is a 6MT) and that dynoed at 535 awhp I think on 91 craptane. I am guessing like our 6MT cars you need to play with "manual shift" points to optimize the 60 to 130 etc with the PDK even.
All great stuff and scintillating cars all of the above.
webcar - dying to see you go full E85 as the COBB guys have done that very well with 600+ awhp nos I seem to recall.

Will do.
What do you think about creating another thread about miscellaneous 997.2 performance talk so we can stop cluttering up the thread about your car with chatter about other tuners, random data for other people's cars, etc?
