991 turbos according to champion motorsport are a lot different than 997.2 , they are bigger . Limit of pdk is still 700 hp so for a 700 hp 991 turbo all you need is full exhaust plenum and giac tune .

Our 991 Turbo S is strapped to the dyno as we speak, equipped with the very first set of our CMS Intercoolers for the 991.

Testing and re-tuning starts now.

No it will be a perfect setup on 997.2 . On a 991 turbo I dont think you will need intercoolers!
I would add giac stage 2 tune, which was done in colaboration with champion motorsport and its the same tune that run 9.8 on stock turbos .The software has 1 file for 91 octane (640hp) and 600whp on race gas .

Here is the link : http://www.emmanueledesign.com/products/porsche-997-2-turbo-s-giac-stage-2-performance-ecu-software-upgrade

Dont forget pdk 1000hp clutch will be ready by the end of the summer

Do tell?
I've seen this mentioned a few times with no actual data. I'm really curious how the 997.2 platform is going to progress

Email from softronic, says no re-tune needed as the ECU will adjust timming to take advantage of the lower temp. Opinions??

To a degree, yes. The factory ECU is very dynamic in this regard. At the same time, there is a benefit in adjusting the tune to the upgraded intercoolers as you can also run more boost (at the same duty cycle) due to the less restrictive design.

I emailed GIAC about my tune and was told the same thing, no need to retune for intercoolers.

Your stock ic's are the same of the GT2 RS. My best bet for maximum gains with your budget is the E85 conversion.

I believe your questions to me were asking if a retune was needed with an IPD plenum, to which I replied no. However, we do have more aggressive files for cars that have upgraded intercoolers. We also have specific files for cars with exhaust, headers, plenum+GT3 TB and intercoolers.

Stage 1: exhaust strongly recommended
Stage 2: exhaust intercoolers required
Stage 2+: exhaust, headers, plenum+GT3 TB and intercoolers

These are all free upgrades for existing customers. Also, these files were created around 2011, so if your flash is older than that, you might look into getting an update from us. The new files are MUCH smoother and quite a bit stronger than the older version 1 software options we offered.
