Help, what is this 997 Turbo worth?
So in about 8 years or so they should be free, right? No, I'm just kidding
. I am right there with Redwine on pricing and guesstimate $85k would be fair given the mileage, specs, and upgrades.I am no 997 market expert but I do expect the 997.1t values to flatline in 3 years given the pattern 996tt's have displayed...with the 996's values stabilizing the value of the 997's
I agree with all the comments about modded cars though. However, even if you strip it and sell the Champion package for 10k, the car is STILL worth high 80s due to the mileage.

No way you will ever buy that car for 85k. Car is a bargain for even 10k more than that. Cars with that mileage are close to 90k and they have a fraction of the equipment.

There are just very few 08's that fetch anything close to 100k. I feel that most would take the 09 or 997.2 route.

Also who drops 20k on a car then never drives it? Then he wants 100k for a 7yo car with no warranty? That car might be worth it on paper but the OP can do SO much better.
I will never understand the crazy prices for a sub 10k car, and i frankly dont think there is a desire for it. Sorry dude you failed to drive it, good luck getting your 15k premium for miles. He also wants his mods back and that istn gonna happen.
Again there are 997.2s and PLENTY of .1 that are better values, probably better cars and are a blank slate to work from.
As to the 997tt vs 996tt. There is a huge difference in the cars. I think the 993 and 997 will keep value where the 996 does have a lot that the 997 does upgraded turbo with variable vanes, the PSM improvements, the PASM, The ability of the Tip and PDK to hold boost. The 997 is going to compete with cars 10 years older than it as a daily driver and weekend track car.
Agreed that I would never buy such a garage queen either. However, that will drive the price.
Think of it this way, for 95k, strip the kit. Sell for at least 10k. Market price of the car is mid 80s given the build it is really spectacular.

For the Op's ? I agree with you. However, if I was the OP, I would seriously consider a number of other cars. Especially if you arent keeping it long. It will sit for months while you try to get your mileage AND MOD premuim
Yeah I think I am thinking would I buy it rather than the OP's question of whats it worth.

That's an awesome car. Might be worth 100k but for that price, you could get a 997.2 Turbo 6speed for maybe $90k (say with 15-20K miles) and drop a stage 2 tune package (tune, plenum, exhaust and intercoolers) and you would be right there in terms of power.
I agree with the $85k price. The car has some great mods, but when you plan to sell the car, the mods could be a detriment. Most buyers are looking for low mileage un-modded cars, and they are suspicious of highly modded cars. Paying $85 and enjoying the enhanced performance will be a thrill, but don't expect to get top dollar when you sell.

Its for sale by Chicago Motors. I spoke with them about this car too because my Dad is searching for a 997.1 Turbo. I was put off by the dealer trying to convince me this car is a great investment and will be worth more in a few years. That being said, I just sold my pristine stock 07 with 13K miles a couple weeks ago for $80K, so I'm sure this car is worth around $90K assuming someone wants the mods.
I seems like the GT2 wing to me...

Low miles and great options and upgrades. The sell price for that car should start with a 9 IMO.
OP…lots of opinions here so I figure I would add mine too.
Since this is a "dealer friend" of yours I would have him look for a very lightly used 997.2 (2010-2012) turbo. Save yourself the heartache/headache of dealing with a heavily modified turbo. You know the engine mods as they are listed in the thread. I'm also guessing by the pics this has a 997.2 bumper and rear lights, in addition to the wheels and wing - all meaning paint and misc work for fitment, which isn't too difficult. In my mind this cancels out all the "extra" value one might expect from a bone stock turbo with this mileage and sticker. IMO, it's worth what a typical '08 turbo with similar mileage yields in this market. Window sticker is nice show and tell and the options awesome but that doesn't always equate to more cash resale. In addition, the engine mods negate the "classic" these cars are "bullet proof" as know you'll be chasing down misc prior work should you run into problems. Do some searching and raise some questions to those who purchase cars w/kits. It's not always rosy.
I love these cars and have nothing but respect for those who choose to mod but you asked about price, opinion, etc. You can get a 997.2 to do everything this car can and be worry free and have the modern features that come that year from the factory. You can drive it 2-3 years and sell just like everyone else.
This car left bone stock is worth more than it is today modified, my opinion.
If you do end up seriously considering this purchase then you should check to determine if a warranty is available. There are a lot of aftermarket options. I'm not suggesting you need one rather I'm suggesting you to determine if the car merely meets the requirements to be covered. That in and of itself should tell you something.
There are lots of great cars out there, what's most important to you? Manual transmission, low miles, warranty/CPO, color, condition, adaptive sport seats, PCCB, aero kit, painted lowers, new lights, etc, etc. This will help folks steer you in the right direction.
Good luck!

Oh, this is a highly modded car, so better be prepared to live with one. I bet it has the full Champion kit - if you really want the car, check with Tom at Champion, he probably knows the car. I bet it also has the Werks 1 rear wing. I think those are forged Champion 1 piece wheels and the car has at least lowering springs, if not coil overs.
