I have a build in 9500ci that has served me well in addition to being an easy to use, fully integrated Radar and Laser system it also gives you red light warning cameras.
Mine was installed by Detailing dynamics in Mineola NY, these guys did a full custom install hid the controls in the ash tray and the display inside my rear view mirror.

Valentine 1.
the arrows are most useful thing for a radar detector, and valentine has a patent on theirs.
My car came with a k40 hard wired radar/laser system (units are hidden inside the bumpers, and behind the grills/above the rear license plate).
My v1 has saved me numerous times. the arrows help you determine how to handle the threat.

The best system I've ever seen is called common sense. We all drive fast. But I've seen too many times how a radar detector provides a false sense of security. Know your surroundings, pay attention and you have nothing to worry about.

Do you use the V1 and the K40? What do you think about the K40? I had one on my M5, but I wasn't too sure how well it performs versus the V1, or other hidden systems such as the Passport. Trying to decide on my next setup.
Thanks

John, the K40 is great. i had an escort integrated system on my 996, that thing was good too.
on its most sensitive setting, the k40 and v1 are about the same. with a slight advantage going to the v1.
BestRadar, i didnt know that. why don't other companies do it ? The arrows are necessary IMO.

I certainly agree with you on almost everything. I don't drive like my set up is fool proof but I do like the added assistance and peace of mind it provides.
Guess I am a belt and suspenders kind of guy.

K40 is trash. Look into the Anti Laser Priority. It can be installed completely flush and discrete, has better jamming than anything on the market AND is cheaper. Plus there's an option to get bluetooth heads, so you don't have to be running wires up and through any firewalls.

I may do that. My friend hard wired all his cars, and just takes this from car to car.

guys
Valentine offers a cool alternative to hard wiring.
its called "Savvy", its an extra $50 when buying the v1, or $60 on its own.
The way it works is, you plug the unit into your obd2 port, and plug the wire from the v1 into the unit.
you can even control at what speed the audible alerts turn on . i run the wire under the headliner and a pillar. no cutting, splicing, or paying someone to hard wire it.
