Champion 68 turbos - first impressions
While at the track I added 3/4 tank of 98octane racegas to the remaining 1/4 tank of 94octane gas and I swear that it was noticeable! The car was fast already but seemed even more powerful especially in the upper rpms. Normally it doesn't pull a lot of timing but there is a lot less activity from the knock sensors with the mix of the racegas with pump (which I did just for safety reasons as I was BEATING the car, lol). I understand why people love racegas! And this was just the pumpgas tune!!!
Can hardly imagine what it's like on a racegas tune or e85. At high speeds on the back straightaway the car definitely gets floaty - time for a front splitter to help with front downforce...
The turbos and car held up beautifully to a day of flogging. The datalogs did show that short term fuel trims were quite variable but I already know that bigger injectors are needed.
I think the only casualty from the track was my spoiler hydraulic - looks like it has started to leak again. Too bad warranty is done - guess I'll buy those fixed mounts after all...
I didn't get to do a timed run at the end of the day because the oil level was low (and flashing). I was surprised because I had topped up the oil the day before. I guess a good flogging can burn up some oil. Next time I'll keep a quart with me, which I should have done anyway.

I'm planning on a 55 gallon drum, or 2x30 gallon drums at my new house.. It is a 15 minute drive to the E85 station. You guys could do something similar.

I've got little kids and I don't really want to store e85 or racegas in the garage. Logistically moving the heavy drums is another issue. Sure it could be done but I'm waiting for it to come to the pumps...
I paid $4.50 or so per litre for the 98octane racegas at the track.
The only new development was that Durametric shows a bunch of Stage1-3 and a few Stage 4 overrevs. Damn, I guess the flogging I gave the car at the track was a good one, lol.
I will get injectors changed and coolant lines pinned over the winter at some point and then recalibrate. The car has been an absolute joy to drive. I've been zipping around with no issues and the daily driveability is great. Car goes into hibernation at the end of next week.

Hey Bogg,
Did you ever post the dyno graphs you did? I'm curious on the curve. I know you're probably making more power now than when you dyno'd but could be useful information nonetheless.
Also, I don't think this has been asked but how has the clutch been holding up?

Perhaps if Dzenno is back at the dyno he could take a pic of one of the dyno graphs and post it? I think he would rather wait for the next dyno session though.
No clutch issues at all with the Sachs II.5
but at less than $2.60 a gallon it is okay. I may order some E98 via a 55 gallon drum for when the E85% drops. I tested 2 of my stations with E85 today and got one at E75 and the other remarkably at E88, wtf
The BOGG fwiw my injectors are already maxxed at 100% IDC% on E85, I have Id1000s, you may want even BIGGER
Yeah I am tired of driving the 12 miles each way, all I seem to do is fill up with E85, and as I thrash my car all of the time I get like 14 mpg if I am lucky

The chances of e85 coming here soon are pretty slim. I'm mainly interested in smooth idle and drivability on pump gas and occasionally racegas so I think ID1000s are still the best compromise. But I'd be interested in hearing any other opinions.
Buy the biggest damn injectors you can get your hands on. As the World's Longest Injector Swap™ record holder, I can assure you that is a job you only want to do... Once.
