Hawk Ceramic Pads

I've owned track cars, modded cars, race cars, etc. Back in 98 i decided to put on some Hawk HPS pads on my 95 toyota supra with baer cross drilled rotors. That was the absolute worse combination ever. It never dusted nor did it ever stop

SInce then i've tracked STI, S13, and other cars. When coming to the 997, the first thing i noticed was how much brake dust. Chris told me on his car the rear indicators came on first. I did a lot of research and it appeared that the Hawks would fit the build. I was worried about going with them but after reading about the Performance Ceramic version felt comfortable going with them.

I ordered a set from Stillen. They were nice enough to call and verify the application. I received one box one week later. I remove the front wheel and take the pads out and i noticed they did not fit. Thinking it was already 2am, I said let me put the car back together. The pads were probably the rear. A week later the 2nd box showed up. Once again I took off the front and wheel and to my suprise once again they did not fit. I then realized that all this time the rear pads arrived first and the front pads were simply the wrong pad all together. I replaced the rear pads and put everything back together.

I immediately notified Stillen and Hawks of the problem. Hawks told me that I had the wrong part number but guys on this forum helped cross checked and realized the Hawks don't make Ceramic pads for the front brakes onf 997.1 TT cars. After several calls and voicemail, i finally get a call back from Edwin the product manager @ hawks. he tells me that Hawks definitely wants to make the pads for us and it will take 6-8 weeks.

Stillen said they could give me Hawk HPS pads but i would be stuck with the rears since i already installed them. They paid for the return shipping. I've been doing this a long time and know the routine. I didn't push them on it because stuff happens.

Fast forward 4 weeks i contact Edwin@Hawks and asked for the status. Now they are telling me that i need to wait till Christmas. IMHO that is kind of nuts. They have the material to make the pads and they originally said 2 months. Now 5? If I knew it was going to be this much of a hastle i would have went elsewhere. Edwin tells me that the HPS are available. I was floored.. I know Hawks is a big company and i'm just a lonely P car guy but a little bit of honesty would be great. I make sure when i reach out to Hawk i reply from the latest email so the entire history is there. Now i'll guess i'll either wait 3 more months or just get rid of Hawk all together. Chalk up the $100 pads to lesson learned.

Thanks,
Sid

What happened with the front pads, did you ever got them?
If you did how do they compare to oem?
Thanks
