X pipe on the porsche is the best sound you can get, problem is it causes back pressure on higher hp cars. ive tested this with tim on my 996. with this setup the short route will open up when you are really getting on it and you have performance and noise of straight pipes.
At what HP level was the x pipe a restriction and how much power did it rob?

I'm not doubting it, just curious because GMG and BBI both use x pipes in there exhausts. I also agree it sounds great.

Nice that you have the best of both worlds.

on my 6262 turbos there was 6 psi of backpressure before the "X" at 20psi of boost. i dont know how much power it was down but at that level those turbos make about 750whp. you want no backpressure after the turbo.

not everyone wants to drive around with straight pipes full time. when you get to the bigger power levels sacrifices have to be made.

They both make great exhausts, but I'm pretty sure they both go straight pipe (or something close to the Proto non-merged "X" Pipe) for their higher HP builds. Example: BBi's King Kong for example has straight pipes.

I have a proto exhaust too. I believe they just cross over each other but don't actually merge. If you want to stay in nj your in good hands with Garth. Fab work is excellent

I spent 12K. I have not put the car on the dyno yet. Hoping for $600 wheel on a 997.2
