Drain & fill engine coolant
Drain & fill engine coolant
Does anyone know an easy way to drain some coolant so I can add some fresh stuff without creating a large air pocket in the cooling system? I know this isn't ideal...a flush would be best, but I don't have time right now and it's extremely cold here (Ottawa Ontario). I'd like to drain out about 4 litres or so, pour in some new antifreeze, then drive it around for an hour or two to mix it up thoroughly. Thanks in advance!
Thanks for the response. I have a gauge and it reads low, it looks like it was diluted at some point so I need to drain some out and add some new stuff. I'll do a proper flush in the summer. I was just hoping to find out where most convenient drain point is before I crawl under the car.
As silly as this may sound, you may want to purchase a siphon for gas or oil, They sell these types of pumps at auto part stores, and replace what you extract with coolant. Probably the easiest way of replace your already mixed formula.
Just a thought, probably not the correct answer with the wealth of knowledge on this forum.
