Won't work, why the focus on a 4 door Bimmer? If its simply for family duties why not any utility cross over or SUV (e.g., ML, X5, RX, Q5 etc) and keep the TT?

Or save some coins and buy a used 4 door POS? I mean you can get a beater pickup for a couple grand and you will have it to do utility work too.

Unless you live in the heart of a city where parking is expensive, it is sily to not have a second car if you have enough money to own a Porsche turbo

Key is to get a TT cab....I've hauled numerous large bulky items, once an 8ft long pvc pipe (I bet that's longer than any hockey stick haha), just let it stick out the back LOL

quick question why do you have so many loafs of bread?
seems like your buying it for an army of people, i can barely finish a loaf in a week

Hi so my TT is a DD but not my only car since I have 4 kids.

My oldest is 14y, he is taller than me already so he wont fit in the back seat.

Ice hockey trunks are huge, it might fit alone in the back, but more likely occupying the passenger seat in the folded back position.

Though in the winter I've seen 911's with a rooftop box for skiis, that probably hold the gear for your son?

And as Jerremy Clarksson said, since you drive a 911 you probably have skinny wife and skinny kids, go for it!

Hockey? Absolutely not. No way. A 154mm snowboard will consume both backseats and require the passenger seat to be folded forward. There is absolutely no way to have a hockey bag, hockey sticks and 2 passengers inside the car.

The only way you could make it work would be a roof rack and a big roof box.

thats what I was saying, just have a normal cheap car with space when you need it. No problem DD a porsche but as your only car and worried about space?

I may be going that route and want to hear your stories. The issue for me is I have my son part time and some times I have to take him, and his hockey bag and stick to his games. I don't know if I can do all that with my wife in the front seat ? So that means, a great big lifestyle change for the three of us (as I would take him solo)

or give up owning a 911 and get a 4 door bimmer or an RS5 ?
Probably hard to get the hockey stuff in the car too. I only have my turbo, but I'm single without kids and if I need another vehicle (hasn't happened yet), I can rent an SUV for the day or as someone mentioned, just buy a cheap SUV or 4 door car since it's only needed sometimes.

Nick had a 911 as his only car, went to the BMW route for 4 months then going back to Porsche. He posted this https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ys-wanted.html

But have you asked your wife if she didn't mind that you have quality father and son time? My husband doesn't mind that I run ballet and cheerleading practices solo while he has the house to himself. With 4 kids and 4-5 games on Saturdays, we split up and drive our 911s. I have a cab which can hold a surfboard, folding chairs... he has a TT coupe but haven't had the need for a roof rack yet.

So to help pitch with your wife:
1. She gets to sleep in because hockey games are typically pretty early.
2. Son is 14, soon he will be driving or carpooling with friends who can drive.
3. She has time to ___________ (fill in activity to spend your $, eg shopping, lunching with friends, spa, zumba)
4. See Nick's photos
5. Quality father and son time

good luck!

Sure. He would be just as cramped as having no bag. As the bag takes up one seat.
If he can handle sitting in the back period the bag isn't going to make it much harder

on the side of the passenger seat or next to the console... Seriously do you even play hockey to know what you are talking about? Or do you have a 18 inch plug in your Chara pro stock?
