172.25 MPH in the Quarter Mile!- King Kong!

Quick update from TX2k:

Confirmed 172.25 MPH in the quarter mile which make it the fastest 996.

Built by BBI. This car has twin 3794's, 3.8L motor, Hollinger Gear Box and ProEFI. Tuned by BBI and myself.

I thought Jason S. tuned this car on ProEFI and it ran on ProEFI during this event ?

If it did this on stock ECU and COBB that would be crazy for 996 ECU which is less advanced than the 997 ECU.

No no it was on the ProEFI. Jason originally set it up, but there have been lots of changes since then. AP can't do an ignition cut for the trans haha.

Great run, but please help me out with a few things (1) how can the car register a 2.3 60' time (i.e., quite a slow start) and (2) an ET of 10.3 (which is commensurate with cars trapping in the 130mph - 135mph range for the 1/4 mile) but then achieve 172.25 mph! Is it simply a slow start then BOOM!! rocket down the 1/4 mile? Am I missing something?

Got it. First post was originally slightly misleading since it had no mention of ProEFI. I know COBB has some very fast GTRs, their factory ECUs are much nicer than 996.

Any vbox data 60-130 and 100-150?

Yes I changed it I can see how that was a bit misleading.

No vbox. I was on an airplane when this happened, so I didn't get as much data as I would have hoped.

Side note a stock ECU GTR went 7.4 at 189 on an AP yesterday! It was pretty insane.
