So I was working under my dash the other day and realized, there is little/no use for the Cigarette Lighter / Power Port under the glove box (at least for me).

So I found a dual USB Port and swapped it out to, what I consider a more useful device! It only takes about 20-30 minutes, and now I have Dual USB ports to charge devices and no need for Cigarette lighter adapters. Cost is very cheap and you can find these ports on eBay (let me know if you need help).

So I wrote a DIY, took photos and documented how I did it, in case someone else could benefit and/or wants to try it.

Certainly, if you see opportunities to help others, or tips please post here for others. When complete it looks pretty much OEM and a nice upgrade!

Again, I host these on my personal web server, so if it gets a lot of traffic, it may flake out....so just try again until it works.

Enjoy, and let me know if it helps....

This is awesome... + rep!

...for $2.50, why not just use one of these?

Yep...That works too! I am just a little **** sometimes

You can get the ones in my DIY for less than $10. If you are willing to wait for a China purchase they are around $5.

Very nice Rock. As usual, professionally done and looks like a factory option. I tapped that to power my Dension, but I can see adding this.

Thanks Jako! Yes..I was re-installing the Dension unit after it got toasted from a firmware update (and Eric from Bumper Plugs helped me get them to re-flash it), and I got the idea. Quick, cheap, easy, and useful.

Take care,
