New 2009 997 TT Owner On Board

So, I'm prepared to be called out on this post and I fully understand because I'm still having trouble believing it myself !

I've been researching here, which has been awesome, so that I could buy a 2001-2003 996TT in the $35 - $42K area. Realizing it will have 60-90K miles and as long as it hasn't been molested and records where good and of course a PPI would be done, I'm OK with a higher mileage car if clean and proper.

Here comes: I was the 3rd person in line of 35 people interested in the car with #1 thru #5 wanting to buy it immediately. The seller choose to offer the car in the order you gave a deposit or convinced him you where a serious buyer. On Tuesday of this week I text the seller to see what happened to #1 & #2 Buyers? I had no high hopes because there is no way on earth that someone "ready" to buy a Porsche Turbo would pass up this deal. Ends up #1 was a younger fellow who was unable to come up w coin, #2 was running out the door to drive to the airport in Texas to buy the car in San Fran, his wife squashed the deal. Holy crap, I'm on the bubble.... The seller sent me the PPI report that the #1 buyer demanded & seller paid for ! With all the info. I had, I prepared to do the deal, It is more than I was planning to spend but good word I had to do it. I still can't believe it wasn't a scam. The seller had been given the car after graduating college and recently bought a new Z06 Vette so the Porsche must go.

I flew up to San Fran from So Cal, went for a good test drive and inspection. Then went to the bank and I drove it home 400 miles and it passed smog the next day. Here's the deal: 2009 Turbo, 86,000 miles. Black coupe Tip w Sport Chrono, showroom condition, drives like new. I paid $45,800.00 for the most beautiful car I have ever driven. I just need to find a cemetery that will sell me 2 lots side by side that will fit a 997T ! It's true 100%. Pics of Black Betty to come soon.

Congrats on the pickup seems like a pretty good deal - but with those miles I think it's pretty reasonable honestly.

I looked at an 09 with ~60K miles and the price was high $50's - add another 26K miles and i would expect the price to be high $40's low $50's... I think you saved a few thousand bucks for sure, so now you have more mod money

Glad you found the car you were after and I agree with the cemetery plots, perhaps they will cut you a deal, or you could just get one large one and have them bury you in it

Wow. That's a great deal and mileage don't scare me as these motors are well built.

I have been looking for awhile too and my wife says after our second child is born. While we were at the hospital, 3 hours after my daughter was born, I told her that i found the car for a good deal. She said go ahead and buy it cuz she will never hear the end of it. A week later, it was delivered. :-)

You are correct MAC73 ! The pics are at one of their car washes / gas stations they own in the Bay Area.

It turned out to be one of the cleanest car deals I've ever done.

I was OK with buying a 996TT, thats all I was looking at. I had spent time here reading about the more common quirky things to look for on the 996TT but not the 997TT !

I'll take a look here first for 09 common probs. & if you don't mind, I'll hit you guys up if I can't find what I'm looking for.
