The 991 is a lexus in comparison. It's very refined with a ton of body roll and while I liked the electric steering for the street, I felt disconnected once I got to trying to carve up the canyons. For the street it is a huge improvement. For high performance/ track driving...not so sure. So keeping the 997.2 for the forseeable future.
991TTS is a GT

Did you have PDCC turned on?

What sway bars are you running in your 997.2?

OP's tts canyon test is a very unique experience. I suggest he has not turned on at all feature such as SP or PDCC on in sport mode. How is 997tts faster or better handling with less roll etc than 991tts in stock???

Look even here for time:

http://fastestlaps.com/tracks/nordschleife.html please see # 27 and # 32.
No 997tts ever has as fast time as 991tt/tts

I can say doing regular fast mountain road driving, our TTS handles super flat and going through many sharp corners like on rails..... no body roll at all!! Using SP or just sports with PDDC button on through these very fast tight turns even make our good friends 991GT3 behind us amazed and not faster....both cars with no body rolling whatsoever. PS both tts and gt3 are stock suspension too.

Well, if I was stock then I'm sure the 991 is better/faster with less roll, etc. But I have a lot of engine and suspension mods in my 997.2. None of which can be carried over to the 991 platform. I liked the 991 a lot. But they way I have my 997.2 modded now is just sublime.

Adam,
glad your keeping your car for now its hard to part with something you've spent alot of time on that works, besides I still want a rematch at the next 1/2 miler, with some luck someone over here in the US will have aftermarket intercoolers by then which will allow for a more aggressive tune. I also know you will be faster by then too, Can't wait.

longboarder no need to change it sure! But this "ton" of roll means very sloppy and leaning over in corners yes?... and if really like that then not produce fast time on track? When in very hard tight corners which I drive most day now car is so tight and super flat!...no rolling...fantastic! So, I think you forgot to switch on right mode or something...or maybe even fault, or it was just regular tt with no pdcc? Anyway no matter, best luck to you for future decisions
