I guess my point is the Carrillo and Pauter rods are pretty much canned rods for these engines. With all the money you are spending why not have a rod designed specifically for your hp/torque/rpm's. This way you get the lightest rod
capable of handling your specific motor.

Hello,

Not bent but i have seen small end problems.

Small end material gets worn and makes thicking noise because of the increased clearance between piston pin and small end.

Happened 3-4 years ago when my car was 3.8 liter with GTX3076 turbos.

Stock length rods with stock crankshaft. Mileage was about 5000 miles.

Max rpm was 7500 and max boost was 1.95bar (around 29psi)

I wasn't driving with this boost all the time though. Daily boost was around 20psi.

From my exp building many 997TT , 996TT plus mine , if you do the engine build very right , change the oil in time .. Run the boost based on the octane in the tank .. It will live years and years ,

Question. If the rods are equally strong, does 32g of weight really matter for an engine that is putting out over 1000hp? How many roads are there? I understand rolling weight for wheels and overall weight but 32g x how many rods is probably a pound total?

I noticed the small end of the rod on the stock motor is fairly narrow. Is the solution to the small end wearing to go with a water small end, and matching piston?

Hoping to keep stock pistons on my build.

Little update :
Engine is ready since 3 weeks , am just waiting EMRE to ship it (customs etc etc etc from my side late )
!!! am so exciting to test it (2.5bar) and get the great features in Syvecs ECU
If any one consider to build an 1000-1500hp engine , talk to ESMOTOR , they even give a warranty for their work !!! I received pics for the build from the start to the end which am sure I was in safe hand !!
