Thanks again for the input everyone.
This is the last log I did

No, when I mean hardware I'm talking something other than the calibration data in the ECU. Your engine, turbos, timing chains, etc are all completely fine at 43k. That's nothing. What I am talking about is MAF sensors, possibly plugs...that sort of thing.

Also, these logs look considerably better. Did you change anything?

Oh I thought you meant engine wise. Nothing different except that may be the Sunoco fuel. I was running Mobil before. I changed the plugs and coils when I bought it (one heat range colder slightly tighter gap) also cleaned the maf's when I was getting post o2 rich cell.
Thanks

Hola,

As has been covered by Dzenno the 997.1 can be a real fight on poor octane. I would suggest flashing on a lower octane gas map if anyone has issues. In most of our tunes we actually take away timing so we can add boost. Even logging a stock 997.1 calibration they will pick up a ton of knock.

If anyone needs anything feel free to email me happy to chat. I have tomorrow off till the race Sunday so happy to help. Next week will be back to normal I promise

Thanks
Oh, so you were getting mixture codes until you cleaned your MAF sensors? If that's the case, your sensors are still very likely screwed up...just improved. Cleaning them rarely brings them back to like new condition as the hot film electronics are extremely sensitive and don't take well to being fiddled with. Cobb's ignition timing on their canned tunes is frankly very conservative so to be seeing as much correction as you are likely means there are still underlying issues. I would load the stage 1 map and datalog again.

Friday Logging

I started off the day filling up at a different station and instead of CAM2 I filled up on Renegade 102. I stayed with the 93 Stage 2 map and drove roughly 40 miles prior to logging.

I started the session with 4 dyno pulls both using the Cobb dyno program aswell as the Pbox dyno program. Needless to say I utilized the very same parameters for both. The Pbox average over 4 pulls was 468.2, the Cobb data was too inconclusive to utilize for instance the run that yielded a 483 on the Pbox generated a 788 hp on the Cobb.

From there I ran a 60-130 with a time of 8.992 which is on par with my other runs with 93 stage 2 map.

Log: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...gid=2004772955

Then I switched the map to 91 Stage 1 and went on a 30 minute highway drive to acclimate the car. On the turn around I began logging from a stop. For what ever reason the log shows Knock even at 0 MPH?

Log:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...gid=1420432855

Finally I went to they very road I perform my pulls on and did another 60-130 with the 91 stage 1 map which interestingly yielded my best time ever at 8.816.

Overall the knock values are down however how much knock should be expected with such high octane in the car running such a conservative map?

It looks still like a fuel issue to me but take that with a grain of salt, when was the last time you changed the fuel filter? Are you running mafless?

Roncooper,

Interesting...that just begs the question to be asked. Are you truly running a 102 octane gas? Is it much lower octane than stated?

Naturally I'm at the mercy of the station and company to provide accurate values for their fuel. With that being said even if it is not 102 say it's 98 true valve the car wouldn't respond poorly to that fuel given the map I was running.

True. I wonder if your octane is well below the 91 value.

Do you find you have much transmission noise?
I'm about to change my fluid; I'm thinking some noise is being transferred back; as crazy as that sounds... (I have numeric cables and such, so I can hear the noise created by the trans)

I'll take a look at your logs when I get the chance, I have a feeling they're much like mine.

No I don't hear any trans noise. That car is super quiet other than the tubi exhaust which in my opinion is not too loud at all.

Haha on second thought I am a disabled veteran and after shooting as many rounds as I have maybe it's my hearing. I'll take a porsche tech for a ride and see what he hears

We are finally back!

Ron, Jon is going to spend as much time as you need to get this sorted with you. He will find a solution for sure.

Thanks guys!

Oh I don't doubt that at all. I sent him logs of today's runs. The car was running the stage 0 map.

Knock knock; who's there?

Ran the car today still with 102 octane fuel, and retuned the car back to its base map. The car hardly pulled any timing at all (-2.5) for just a few seconds nothing major at all. It's this sort of timing I would expect it to pull of any at all. It's my opinion in conjunction with Jon that there are no real mechanical issues at play.

I have sent all my maps to Jon at his request for review. I'm sure there is just something minor my car doesn't like.

I have a bunch of goodies that are piling up in my office that I'd like to get on the car...

Getting closer. Next thing to test is the gas. After that result I'm sure fresh plugs and those goodies with some tuning will fix you. For your sake I hope I win the bet!
