Hey guys,
back in 2006 when I decided to build the motor on my 996TT, I experimented with intercooler cores and end tanks designs. Since then alot has changed.
Now I use molded one piece end tanks I developed as well as cnc machined flanges we make from scratch. I also make them to fit almost any end tank connection be it oem or 2.5" or even 3 piping. I use Bell cores and they have been great to me since 2006. My clients ran record 60 to 130s on the 3.5" on the k16 billets as well as a 5.2 second on the A28s. In texas heat another car made 1100 whp on the 4.5" ICs as well as I ran a hard to get 9 second run back in 2007 on these as well trapping upper 140 mph. My Kuwait client on the 997 is making well over 1200 whp with 3.8L on hta 3586s on syvtec. Currently, my car is trapping 155 mph and running 9.6s and 9.8s all day long with the custom 6" intercoolers and thats on race gas without meth. As a matter of fact non of the cars mentioned were on meth for cooling or E85.
Although its been an on going debate on the forums, this is not about starting an argument and or hijacking threads. I'm just sharing my product as well as the results... my intercoolers are pressure tested to 35 psi before they are shipped. We use 13 bars across and maximize the available space and the 4.5" cores come in 2 options- one cools better meanwhile the other flows more volume. Depending on the application, you get to pick what will work best for you.
here are some pics of the 3.5" and the 4.5" ICs before they are finalized.
thanks for looking...

Beautifully done. Is there a significant, real world improvements with Y-Pipe on a 997.2 TT/S?
The oem 997.2 y pipe is same as 997.1. The inner diameter at the ends to the hoses is 1.8" vs a tad under 2.5" and the legs of the oem y pipe is also more restrictive( smaller diameter ).
For high boost I would do it. It also opens up the Intercoolers as you use the 2.5" piping as well vs oem 2.1".
