GT2RS Inspired 997 Turbo build...
Weirdly when I bought the seats they had harnesses on them. I was told they were not included in the sale. However when the seats arrived they had left all the bits on the seats, the only parts missing were the straps that would go ver your shoulders. So now I have 80% harnesses. They are Schroth as well.
I think I'm going to concentrate on the exterior parts and get that done now I think. If you still have it in the spring I might be interested (cage).

I'm sure I will still have it as I have the intention of fitting it just haven't had the time plus I have been playing with my new toy so the Porsche has been put to bed for now.
Unless you're going to regularly track , drag or hill climb i wouldn't bother with a cage. Looks like you're almost there. Yours is going to look exactly like the real thing. Most of the other GT2 reps I've seen apart from Cargraphics cars look terrible. There was one on here recently with GT2 aero kit and BBS wheels and for some reason it just looked fecking terrible. May be wrong wheels or suspension I don't know but it just looked awful. Yours has the right stance even without the full kit so really looking forward to the finished article. May need to commission you to do mine lol
The front wheels don't fill the arches. It has winglets but most likely has standard width turbo wheels of 8.5 inches, that will add to it not looking quite right.
You can buy the carbon fenders/wings as a set from Porsche now so it's basically half the price it was. So I'm definitely going down that route.

Here's a dubious one. Has carbon bonnet but no badge, five studs, gen.1 mirrors, wrong wheels, and tombstone seats. Yep not even sport seats. It was for sale recently on ebay for a long time. And he'd removed the carbon bonnet and out the original red one back on.
I think in the US people tend to put third party wheels on their cars much more than in the UK. I personally think that Porsche's wheels are better than any third party.
Ah yes I thought it was a GT2, or at least GT2 styling. I don't like those wheels though, they don't suit the car.

I agree there are some aftermarket wheels that do not look good and tacky, but there are some other which look much better than any Porsche stock and they are also lighter. These cars are pretty new and common (non collector) so there is no need on keeping them OEM everything if there are better parts (looks and function).
The GT2RS wheels I have are pretty light. Also I'd disagree that the GT2 is a non collector's car. Prices have gone through the roof in the last couple of years, at least in the UK. When I bought my 997 Turbo (3 years ago) you could buy a 997 GT2 for about £80k now you won't find one under £130k unless it has high mileage or has been modified (or both). There is a car for sale right now, a GT2 that has been modified to look like the RS and has 51k miles and its still up for £109k.
I was talking about the 997 Turbo, not the GT2. Anyways, current prices in all rare cars are in a bubble, it is happening also with watches and art. Low interest rates from central banks are flooding the market with paper and are stimulating the alternative investment, at some point it will come back to 'normal' prices (I mean normal, not cheap).
The point I want to make is that not always original is better, unless you have a car for investment purposes.

As for the wheels like I said I haven't seen a set of wheels that I would rather have than the wheels on my car. As my car is plenty modified it's clear thats not the reason why I have them. IMO they are the best wheels available for my car.
Heres what they look like on my GT2 .Sorry not the best pictures. His car looks just like mine except for the front fenders
Also the DB carbon products are 1st rate

I've spent so much on my car recently my barometer for spending is all skewed!
