The torque specs are a little different from a dual mass set up and I can provide those if needed.

Most shops will want to pull the engine and the trans as a unit where as this is the way I did mine you can perform clutch/flywheel work with the engine in.

Id say it's a 5 hour job pulling the plastic, the driveshaft, trans brace, axel bolts, cross braces, and disconnecting the slave. I disconnected the fitting and left the slave attached to the trans and re bled the system.

You'll be working in a decent space and it may be easier to remarry the trans to the engine over head.

I have made my own clutch alignment tool and I can make others if anyone is interested.

I am very satisfied with the system the noise for me is enjoyable at idle.

I would reach out to Sam or he can chime in and provide exactly what components I installed. I know it's all the new RS components but I don't have the part numbers ect.
Thanks, I had a shop upgrade the clutch but kept the oem DMFW, now I kind of regret that. But I also would like to get a lift to be able to do more work myself on this car. In the past I always done all work myself including clutch changes etc on my cars, but somehow getting nicer cars (not breaking down as often) and less free time (family, work, kids, kids, kids, kids.....) has prevented this.

So I think it should be possible to do the FW as you mentioned with the engine in the car, but I am almost thinking about getting the engine out just to see how hard it is

Pretty Impressive! Guy drives a Ferrari and still can drop the motor on his Porsche and do all the work. I sure can't do that! What kind of engineer are you............

Draining the oil when warm allows the oil to circulate and drain into sump more efficiently. Naturally due to the less viscous nature of the oil at temp. There will be in theory less oil in cavities that would be suspending contaminants. To prove this theory I have done both methods and then proceeded to run vehicle for 100 miles. I then sent both oils for analysts, the warm change oil visually didn't appear as contaminated (black) and once the data came back it confirmed my hypothesis. There were significantly less contaminates in the oil that was changed warm.

My procedure is to get the car up to temp 20 minute drive. Let the car sit for an hour or so. Then I drain it. It's not coming out 194 degrees more like 130.

Great write up. Is it an engine out job to install the turbos? I've heard conflicting information. Compared to stock is there a bigger lag with the 65mm and how much quicker is it? Again conflicting information that there is more lag due to bigger wheel which becomes infective quicker due to heat soak? Thanks

Ha I didn't notice any lag the car just flat out rips. Given all the work I performed it was a motor out. However if all your doing is turbos that's a motor in swap no problem. I would recommend performing all the work I described above to get the most from the 65mm turbos.
