A3071 tiptronic build vacuum advice

Hi Guys,

Im about to start on my build, Ive gone for A3071’s as i have a tiptronic. I’ve had some helpful information from some members here from their experience, Thanks vr6tee and prodigymb. Also thanks to AMS for making their install guide for the Alpha kit public, Very very useful!

Unfortunately not to much information around on a tiptronic DIY build and i am doing this myself.

The one thing i am stuck on is the vacuum lines for brake boosting and the plenum. If anyone can chime in it would be great!

I want to remove the first port on the plenum (drivers side) which feeds a change over valve (22 on diagram)(996 605 123 01) and then feeds the factory DV valves and also the brake boost line.

This port will feed my vacuum block that has 5 usable ports after vacuum entry.

Now the Alpha install says the following;

It gets a little confusing but looking at there vacuum block, they only have 4 spare ports after entry and i have 5.

I will run Entry port to the plenum
1st port to drivers side BOV
2nd to boostcontroller
3rd to boost solenoid
4th to passenger BOV
5th …..

What i wanted to know was could i use my additional spare port to reconnect the change over valve and cap of the DV side leaving the Brake boost line connected at both ends?

If so, would steps 51, 52, 53, 54, 55 not be used in the Alpha install guide?

Or am i getting the install guide completely wrong....

Ok, so just incase some one else embarks on this journey i think i may have figured it out.

I will confirm in a week or two when the build is complete.

So if you have a Manual the you have connected to the bottom of 22, the line with the red arrow.

If you have a tiptronic then you have instead what is in the blue box.

Line 18 connects as normal to 12 and then to the brake booster line, 9 connects in place of 7 to the bottom of 22. Number 20 should connect to the coolant control valve on the transmission. The line size 940mm is the same size as what comes of the transmission diagram in the blue rectangle.

If this is correct and the coolant valve needs vacuum and not pressure then you should just need to join 18 to 20 in the first diagram and leave that plugged to the brake boosting line.

Like i said i will confirm in a week or so.
