Road race with C7

The problem with launch control is that it doesn't work too well with traction control on. It works better with traction control off. And then the problem is that even with traction control off, it might spin too much and bog 2nd gear. The best launch on a 997.2 TTS occurs with sport +, trac off, and TOYO R888. It makes a significant difference in 0-60 times. With this setup, you'll ALWAYS hit 0-60 in under 3.0 seconds. With regular summer tires, you'll be lucky to hit 3.5 seconds. You could've been ahead by 100 feet by the time you hit 45 mph if you had this setup. I just happen to know...
Upgrading to Stage 2 caused a lot of launching issues. With the PSS tires I got a lot of wheelspin. Ultimately I needed a much better tire and went with the R888 like you mention. Although with the extra traction and harder launches with the R888's initially things got weird with the PDK - it needed to adapt. Before it adapted there was a delay in the 1-2 shift. Annoying but it eventually went away.
While I love power I'm now making and 30psi mid range is crazy fun, but launching the car has been and continues to be challenging.

0-60mph consistently in the sub 3.0 range (~2.7-2.8 secs) with tune, 100 cell exhaust and IPD plenum only. PSM off and MPSS tires! Never had any PDK shift issue post ECU tune, but then I'm not pushing 25+ psi of boost.

The MPSS and PSS must be siginificantly better than my RE050s I used to have because I NEVER got under 3.0 with them (with VBOX). Now I'm usually about 2.7-2.9 0-60 and have no issues with the R888. Maybe next summer I'll try the MPSS.
Also, FWIW, a stock Turbo S does 127-129 trap. I ran a 10.71@128 this year and last year ran a 10.75@129 at Great Lakes Dragaway. The R888 gave me better launches, but are a little heavier in rotational mass - maybe why I lost 1 mph?

Those are great numbers on a stock TTS. Best I ran stock was in the low 10.8s @ 128 and tuned was 10.6 @ 130 (both on MPSS). Amazing that R888 may shave around 0.5 secs! Of course, other factors play a role as well (e.g., track prep, DA, ambient temps, driver etc) but the R888 appear to be as good as advertised.
The R888 didn't shave anytime - well, unless you count .04 seconds significant. It made my launches consistent. Out of 20 runs at the strip on various days, the one and only time I ever hooked up with the RE050 yielded the 10.75@129. The R888 hook up 90+% of the time with a typical 60' of 1.6 seconds.
I've just been playing around the last 2 1/2 years keeping my TTS stock for now. I believe the stock record is 10.6xx I'm going to give it a go later this fall. After this year, I'm going to start the modding!!
My best runs were on really good DA days. BTW
