I'm still here !!!
Nice stuff Larry. Thanks for sharing
Thanks guys -- I've never owned a car for 8 years before . This was my dream car and still is even though I don't drive it much. Miami roads and construction are just much better suited for a Macan so that's what is driven the most. Usually I only keep a car 2-3 years yet I have clung to this car and have enjoyed it so much. When i look at pictures of this car 8 years ago it looks the same but man I do look older . What's even more interesting is when look at the radio and see old Cd's or the (aftermarket) ipod music which i have from years ago . I get in to take a drive and it;s as if time just went by so fast .
Years ago many argued that a garage queen makes no sense . They claimed that "these cars are meant to be driven". Back then my reply was that i wanted to savor the experience of this car and I am glad that I did .

Same here. My "dream" car was the 911 turbo with deep dish rears, and I will probably get some 12.5-13 inch wide rears at some point...
Larry, nice to see you back. I joined 6 years ago and thanks to posts from guys like you, Chris, Bonehead and many others I learned a lot about the car and purchased one as a gift to myself for my 40th.

I love the car as much now as I did then, despite the angst and financial costs associated with the love affair. That description is equally valid for my kids.
I haven't replied much but am enjoying reading the posts .
The Bogg -- Where did all those guys go ? Did they sell their cars and move on ?
I can't bring myself to sell mine . I have never felt this way about one of my cars . I figure that so long as it keeps running well and stays in good shape it has many years more .
I sometimes look at the newer 911 cars but even if i was swept off my feet with one (which i haven't been to the point of buying one) i would still keep this car .
I must say that i do enjoy my other cars . The 981 Boxster has come so far from its predecessor and the Macan Turbo is such an amazing versatile vehicle . those other cars do seem to fulfill what the latest 911 cars haven't been able to accomplish for my taste .

Bobby bought a McLaren so he moderates that forum I think. He pops in here occasionally. Ed (Bonehead) sold his "pumpkin" and I'm not sure where he hangs out. Chris is still here - he got rid of his 997tt for a .2 and then sold the .2 and bought another .1tt, lol.
This car is "it" for me. It's all I really wanted in a car. The only reason I'd change it is if for some reason I couldn't drive a 6speed anymore.

Good to see some older names back guys!
I found your comment above very interesting. I came extremely close to buying a new Macan a few months back, but settled on a Cayenne Turbo. Loving the versatility that the Porsche SUV offers. It doesn't have the handling the Macan provides, but I needed just a bit more space. I also love the look of the new Boxter. They really nailed the appearance in my opinion.
BUT - I still have the 911 and drove it in to work today. Still a classic in my view and I can see owning it for a long long time.
