Two pedals are faster than three

1.5-2sec shift times are very easy shifts, get those feet moving!
With NLS on a manual car we've gotten our shift times down to 75ms (measured from time we press in the clutch to the time we're off the clutch pedal, accelerator pedal kept down through the shift). 350ms is a default setting for NLS on a lot of systems from where you work back as you practice.
I do agree though for the 1-2 gear shift that time can be higher but still definitely less than 1sec. The rest of the gears though much faster, especially the 3-4 where you can literally tap the clutch pedal, hit 4th, and let off.

Hill climbing , Touge .. that's what matters, at least for me.
Pressing pedal and going straight is boring and gives no joy.
It basically says how good you are at pouring money into your car (and shows your/company where you poured money/ knowledge behind car tuning).
We have a hill where European Hill Climb Championship is held and I love driving there , 5.30 AM on Saturdays, where there is no traffic. I "race" 997.1 GT3 RS and he is absolutely no faster with 6MT and 350 something pounds less than my stage-1-otherwise stock 997.2 Turbo with PDK, same tires MPSC2.
Sorry 6MT enthusiasts, but with 550-600hp, there is no way you can handle shifting and focusing on the steering wheel. I'm no hater, owned couple E36 M3's , 200SX S14 with 400 hp grip specced (fckin beast) and many other MT cars.
PDK is perfect, really smooth in daily driving and fast when you need it. GT-R tranny is faster and more aggresive, but sucks in daily driving conditions (owned R35 before my 997.2 turbo)
Just my experience..

In paper gt-r tranny is faster , but in real life its pretty much dead even with my panamera pdk , maybe even faster , because I pulled 1 car length every shift on my buddys gt-r mk2. 997 pdk should be faster

Same here.... agreed. I own a DBA/MK.2 GT-R.

my 10 PTT has 500hp, and my 07 TT has 480HP. But i can definitely go faster in a straight line in the Panny. HP isn't everything - i just drove a 14 Cayenne Turbo S with 560 HP back to back with a new Macan Turbo 400HP - and the Macan is nearly as fast, more nimble and a lot more fun to drive....and a bit cheaper..

It might be faster above a certain speed. So here's when I was around 600 wheel racing a 997.1 (Anthony's old Switzer E911 set up) making 830 wheel. Even though he got the hit and has 230 more wheel HP, I caught him and he didn't really pull until just before the end at around 145mph.
So if you are going for triple digit speeds then yeah the 6MT should have an advantage with 200 more HP. But from a dig or anything below 100mph the PDK car will win.

There are 2 things that are true. 1) a pdk shifts faster than a manual transmission 2) none of the fastest Porsches are pdk.
As a side note, Anthonys car is still a 6 speed manual and out shifts every pdk box in the world.
