Newb question, factory boost gauge? Not so accurate?

Hey guys, I have a 997.1 with exhaust and a tune. In 2nd, I rarely see more than 12 or 13 psi on the factory gauge. In 3rd and 4th I see 15, 16 and every once in a while 17psi on the factory gauge. The butt dyno can't tell the difference. I have a hunch the factory gauge isn't too accurate? Thanks

First question are you getting into overboost in sport mode (little arrow)?

Second. The factory gauge only goes to 17 so even if you make more than that it wont show it.

All that being said the factory gauge is within +\- 1psi of my cobb so it seems relatively accurate to me.

Yes, sport mode

I know I don't make more than that, it's a 91 tune

Good info--thanks, my best guess is there wasn't enough load on the turbos to get past 12-13psi before lifting and shifting into 3rd. There is much more load in those gears.

Thanks Yogi

ps. I love this car

But i think cobb runs off the same sensor, on my external boost gauge it reads slightly lower for some reason.

91 tune doesn't have much to do with it.

What tune and who sold it does.

How long has it been since purchasing?

When were your plugs changed last?
