Trickle charger

This is probably a stupid question. I have Porsche trickle charger that plugs into the cigarette lighter receptacle. I have used it for years on my 996 Turbo. I just got a 997 Turbo. I just want to make sure I can use the charger the same way - plugging it in the cigarette lighter receptacle on the 997. Thanks.

No issues using the same device to charge your battery.

Only think I recommend is to check the water level of the battery. Sometimes, the trickle charger may over maintain a bit and evaporate some of the water in the battery.

If you are planning leave it plugged in, use a tender. No chance of frying your battery.

It fried mine. Since then, I do check the battery water level b4 using the tender, and monitor once a month.

Thanks Guys. It is a Tender, not a trickle charger. I bought it from a Porsche dealership. I do leave it in except for when we are out of town. Thanks for the replies. Hope everyone has a great Holiday Season!

Something is wrong with your tender...doesn't sound like it is going into "maintain" or float mode after the battery reaches it's charge level. A proper functioning battery tender (not charger) should not fry a battery.
