Manual Shifter Knob Cap
Manual Shifter **** Cap
I have a manual transmission and the metal shifter **** cap came loose. The shifter is wood and the cap is a silver with 6-speed pattern.
I can only find articles on how to replace entire shifter but I am simply looking for best solution to get cap from falling out constantly. It looks like cap has teeth that hold it in place and over time for some reason they no longer hold. Cap does not appear damaged in any way.
Any ideas? Thank you

ok you had me wondering so i took mine apart. the 2 screws are what hold the chrome front piece on. the white square is what the shifter shaft slides up into. and appears to have a slip tight fit
my cap has 3 teeth on it. looks like yours has 1 broken off

i didn't realize the **** was basically hollow inside. i was thinking the cap was simply tapped onto a round **** top. glueing wouldn't work in this instance. seeing he has a tab broken off in the last pic its likely it won't stay attached . i think theres a few for sale on the forum
