What exhaust, 997.1 Turbo?
Listen to an FVD TUV approved system. The system is made by M-M racing in Germany and they sound great. I have owned Europipe, Tubi and heard Kline, Cargraphic and Techart but for me FVD/M-M has the right sound/Tone. The price is good too.
If I had to chose an American system I think I'd go with speedtech.
Good luck with your choice you have a lot of companies to chose from.

I have a Europipe Stage 2, and owned a Stage 1 on my 07tt. I really like the stage 2. It does make a TINY amount of drone, at exactly 2200 rpm, and sounds heavenly anywhere else. It's better sounding to my ears than the Stage 1 but louder, without being obnoxious at all. Super high quality too, it's one of the nicest exhausts I've installed.
I live in Finland and here is not that much Porsches(I mean 997 Turbo).
Not to speak of with different exhaust. I have to buy the exhaust without real life experiences.

We have turbo exhausts in Finland. If you PM me your location, I can contact a customer and see if they are near you and willing to meet you....

I was in the same situation (live in Stockholm) I decided on the Kline and have been very happy!
I've heard both GMG and Speedtech in person and they both sound great. I have the BBI Barcode and i am extremely happy with mine as well. Heard nothing but good things about Cargraphic and Kline as well.
All personal preference as others have said - i agree that the best way to determine is to try and hear them in person and even better if you can score a test ride to see for sure.
I never got to hear the BBI in person prior to purchasing, I just bit the bullet and ordered it based off a few sounds clips i had heard and I couldn't be happier!
Good luck in your search - take your time, research and do it right the first time to save yourself some money and hassle.

When I was on a search , I heard several brands at cars and coffee. I went with a Kline blindly except for some positive feedback from folks and at a cost that makes sense. Got a good deal from Sam. I only heard it in person when I installed it and was well beyond my expectations. Sounds loud and exotic.
Depends on what you're planning to make in terms of power to the wheels. In most cases, the stock manifolds on the 997.1 are great up to about 600-625 at the wheels. Above that you'll definitely want a good aftermarket manifold.
