Any info on the cars you ran?

Closing my eyes I swear I was listening to my own car launch and fight for traction on the airstrip. Looked a bit damp out there. Great job of getting the power down my friend.

 

The GTR was FBO (E85 I believe), the 991 was COBB/ByDesign stage 4, and I'm unsure of the mods on the Lambo. I had dozens of hits that day but only have vids of these races (early in the AM) and then my camera pooped out. I need to find a better solution than the GoPro. It soon became apparent that the left lane was THE lane to be in....of course all the vids I posted were from the right. Oh well. =)

 

Sorry man, maybe you don't know the rules, but you can't just post a kill video like that especially against some heavy machinery like that with out details!


Mods on your car, fuel you were running etc. ?

lol....sorry about that...most around here already know the car. Its a Champion/GIAC tune, Ipe headers, and ipe exhaust.

 

It's an easy fix - just buy extra GoPro batteries they are cheap. Make sure all the batteries are fully charged before the event and you are good to go! Keep the extra batteries in the glove box and when one dies swap it out.

And who says our Champion/GIAC 997.2 Turbo package doesn't still run the streets?

What was your 1/2 mile trap speed? Any slips? A little birdy told me you were trapping over 167mph...

I was kind of in a rush to leave that day and didn't grab my slips. Luckily the event organizers have them...I'll get back to you.

 

Nice runs T! Would've been cool to compare your #s to Adams. That was Rob's 991 turbo out there. JR told me they were having problems with it and he felt the clutch was not grabbing on up shifts. Then I heard it was already running the SRM pump upgrade without calibration. That would explain a lot. So to be clear as of now she's not a Stage 4. We have 4 Stage 4 cars now in the 170's and holding the 991 records at 176mph running solid . Wish we got to see you guys run the way it was a few weeks ago when I saw the logs with the stock pump and Stage 4 calibration. It was strong. I know you guys had a fun rivalry going on when he was stage III.

Hey Sam,

I'm not sure what you heard on my end but definitely no rivalry from me. I always go to these events to have fun....not prove anything. After running through 4 or 5 GTR's at this event I was hoping some more Pcars would show up but unfortunately it was only Rob, Sumit, and myself.

In any event, I hope the car gets sorted out and I have no doubt it will be back in action soon.

Hey Adam! Not at all my intent. To be clear I meant FUN rivalry because you guys have had the fastest P-cars at some of the events out there I hear. And I only hear the best about your attitude and comradery. I just wish I was more involved because I know Rob put a lot into that car. Your car is always fast and consistent man keep it up!

 

TightTT is my East Coast twin.

Before my fuel system upgrade, our cars were basically clones...factory stock turbos with the Champion/GIAC bolt ons. We had the same hardware and tune. Basically a high 9-second car with the right tires. 135-136 quarter mile traps.

 

long, you were breaking into 9's with only 136 traps? thats impressive as heck.

 

Champion did a 9.83 with their 135.1 trap using 18" MT ET Streets.

I have trapped higher but never broke into the 9's as I was always on street tires. I went out and bought a rear set of 18's with ET streets and on my first run I popped a wheelie and busted my rear driver-side axle. lol
