Smile New to Porsche

Hey thread members...

I'm new to the Porsche scene and wanted to post my current 997.1 and the projected build. I will update the thread as the build continues but wanted to say hi to everyone on the thread. I came from a new BMW M3 which was lemoned by CA due to a pulling right issue that couldn't be fixed. I love racing and have attended multiple gatherings for BMW at Laguna Seca and hope to meet some new people this upcoming week at the Porsche area.

Now lets get to the car that I purchased. 2007 all black Turbo, 6spd, ceramic brakes, and a fun car to drive.

Projected build - Goal is 600 hp to the wheels and made for the track. I love 1/2 mile events but enjoy the competition of racing a field of drivers.

Stage 1 - paint correction and ceramic coating this week

FFTEC shop:
Stage 2 - Cobb AP with map 1 for now
Stage 3 - E85 build with a dual map
-New injectors
-New exhaust
-Cobb Map
-New fuel pump
-Possible new clutch
-Pro tune from FFTEC

Stage 4 - suspension
-Ohlins coilovers
- multiple items like control arms and spacers to widen the stance
-Sparco seats and roll cage

I would like some input on a decent exhaust for the car. I'm need to run cats here in CA but want my car to be loud. I don't care about those around me since it will be driven mostly on the track.

Again, glad to be part of the Porsche club and love the new car.

Welcome..

You should be able to make 600 to the wheels with that mod list but you might want different intercoolers since you plan to track it. Why do you have a new fuel pump on your list? Lots of people are running E85 on the stock pump...you will most likely need a new clutch at those power levels, though, depending on how many miles are on the car and how the previous owner used it.

I went ahead and upgraded my clutch when the engine was out since I didn't want it to start slipping soon after.. I dyno'd 585lb/ft at the wheels on pump gas and knew the stock clutch would not last.. You're in CA - isn't 93 octane hard to find?

Lots of opinions on exhausts..

Search here for different takes on what people like..

If you want a loud catted exhaust you may want to check out speedtech or tubi or possibly the BBI one.

Congrats!!! Nice car! All black with ceramic is hard to find!!!!
Just my opinion... To achieve 600whp on pump gas i think it will need upgraded vtgs....

Thanks for the replies on the thread.

@Saabin - forgot to mention that I will be upgrading the intercoolers too. I'm curious on what clutch you decided on and if you kept it drivable on the streets. I know the stock pump may work but also heard that I should change it out if using E85 because of how corrosive it can be on parts. I have stopped by BBI in long beach and listened to a turbo on E85 running their exhaust - nice sound but wondering what else is out there for the Porsche. I'll research the forums and see what people have to say.

As I said before, I continue to update the thread with progressive photos. Its currently at the detail shop and will take an after picture to see the difference with the paint correction.

Look forward to talking with all of you on the threads...

Congrats on your purchase and looking forward to your write up on the progress

As someone else said.. finding a black with CCB is hard to do.. finding one not molested is even harder.

Cheers
