tuning the new turbos in non turbo car...
Now that all the 911s will have turbos - not sure what to call them or really, want to call the turbo??
When do we think all the tuners will be out with a tune for these new engines?
I was hoping to get a turbo in the nest couple years BUT i think id rather have a Targa GTS with a turbo engine that I could hopefully tune to around 550 hp...That seems a better choice and a more affordable choice for me (love convertibles but had enough of them - box s, 997S, 997.2S)....A tuned Targa GTS might be the perfect car for me!
Thoughts?

Good tunes for turbocharged Porsche cars tend to take a longer from my experience compared to turbocharged BMWs (07+) for example. Sorry can't give any valuable time estimate.
I can tell you I drove a standard 911 Carrera (new turbo engine) today (convertible, PDK, sport chrono, sport exhaust), and I was pleasantly surprised with finally the non 'turbo' model having low-end torque. The new engine is amazing. PDK is as good as always. The turbo lag is less than in the new M3/M4 for those of you who drove it. The sport exhaust sounds amazing, looks great in my opinion, and burbles on lift-off throttle.

I expect the bigger tuners will have their order in pretty guick and get a car or two in house to begin development work. But when they actually have product to sell is anyone's guess.
They already have a piggy back from Techart, not quit the gains you are suggesting. There will be options once the tuners get their hands on this new 991.2.

I am sure Champion and Cobb will soon have similar or better numbers. Big potential here for the new 991.2 with 485 Hp and 585 ft-lbs! Those are fantastic numbers!

The Stage 1 package is more mellow, as well as cheaper, for MCCHIP is offering only the software upgrade for €2,499 ($2,875), bumping the power to 475 PS (468 HP) and 570 ft-lb 773 (Nm) of torque. If you want to let the Porsche to really stretch its legs, you’ll have to pay €8,349 for the tuner to include a valve exhaust with sport catalytic converters made by Capristo, which lets the car achieve the maximum power rating.
Add another €1,490 over the hefty price and the tuner will also include a so called PDK-transmission optimization, deactivating the enforced up and downshifting, resulting in increased engine RPM and faster gear shifting. The Stage 1 is the best value for money hands down, but if you want to go the extra mile, you pays your money...
