Oil Leak

I noticed some oil on my driveway recently and discovered the following picture.

Do you think this is a bolt issue or something else? I noticed this started happening when the weather got warmer.

That is the oil tank. I would clean it off. Hopefully you just need a new crush washer. Lots of oil is going to come out very fast once you remove the drain plug. Worst case could be someone creased the tank when tightening or loosening the drain. Thus causing a split in the tank.

As mentioned that is the oil tank. It appears that the oil is also above the drain plug, so may be leaking from up top on the oil tank..That happens to some of these cars. You can clean it up and watch to see if it is only at the plug, or coming from above...

Good luck,
DC

Thanks for the advice. Will clean off this weekend and check it out. I had my oil change back in February so I would have seen something by now. It really started when we had drastic changes in temperature lately (80 degrees one day and then 35 the next). I'm wondering if the expansion/contraction of the bolt/washer metal is the root cause.

the leak is dripping down....so I do not believe it to be related to the bolt. I would look for leaks originating from the highlighted sections
