rattling sound from door when window is down

I have a rattling sound that I just noticed for the first time this weekend.

When the windows are down it sounds like a small piece of metal hitting another piece of metal.

Anyone else? 2011 TTS cab.

Thanks

On something like this you don't want to take a chance. I would pop off the cover and see what is happening in there. It could be something coming loose - you don't want to wait until it completely comes loose and not being able to operate the window or getting jammed in there.

Has a similar experience with my M3. The rattling also happened when the door closed. Brought it in to a shop and found out the power cable fell off its track and was touching the window

Thanks guys, I had it out for the first time this season, took it for an inspection. I did not notice it until I was on my way home. The car was in my sight the whole time and I cannot imagine what could havce caused it.

NoJoke is infamous around these parts
I had the same problem.... Sure it's not the door latch (grease it up). There is more flex when the top and windows are down.

I was having a metal on metal tinging noise while driving with the top and window down and discovered it was the latch. By latch I mean where the door attaches to the frame when closing. If that is not it, then most likely the window regulator.
