Best Head / Header gasket? @fabspeed

I have gone through several sets of Fabspeed headers over the years. Some have cracked and I have bought replacements. On my new 997.2 Turbo S I put Fabspeed Headers on it about 5 months ago. I recently was getting a ticking sound and paid little attention. I went on a long weekend Rally and it got WAY worse. Ended up not tracking the car on the final day because it sounded so bad. I took it to the shop and it turns out that the gasket from Fabspeed failed. I called to ask if they warranty the piece and the guy said that their composite ones they send with the sport headers don't do well on tuned high power cars and that I should just buy a couple stock ones from Porsche.

a- No offer to replace the gasket or make it right = Crappy service. Maybe they will see this and offer to do so.

b- Now I am on my own to find a quality gasket to go between the header and the head.

Question: What is a good gasket that will stand up to some wear and tear?

Car is tuned with header and exhaust. Nothing too crazy.

That sucks. There seems to be a trend with some vendors not standing upto their products these days..

Most aftermarket headers will crack, if you are at a mild tuning stage I would recommend going back to stock headers as they are capable to handle alot of HP for peace of mind.

My opinion would be to get the stock gaskets as a replacement, OEM parts are one of the most reliable.

+1. First mistake was using Fabspeed headers. Second mistake was using them again after the first ones crapped out.

I ported and polished my stock ones.. As Tareq said, consensus is they can handle quite a lot of power..

Previous owner had fabspeed headers on my 997TT -- but, he went back to stock when they cracked...just another data point.

Use the stock gaskets. We use those, even when installing our upgraded headers.
