I want to order this mother so bad but the reality is if i do i'm going to take my car out on a 30 degree day to "Test" the new suspension and end up in a tree.

Probably going to wait until the spring.

What setting is best to counter wheel hop? Soft or firm?

I'm no expert but the firmer setting should counter wheel hop better. Why, while I have never experienced it, wheel hop is likely due to loss of traction under hard acceleration. The firmer setting reduces body roll (squatting) under hard acceleration and as a result during acceleration there should be less 'play' in the rear of the car which provides better traction and more grip. That is why launch control defaults to the Sport PASM setting.

That said, I wouldn't rely solely on the DSC module to eliminate all wheel hop as there are likely other factors contributing to your wheel hop beyond mere suspension damping rates, although I am confident that the DSC module should minimize the effects. Hope this helps. I say try both settings and see which feels better (that's an easy real world test).

PPower is infamous around these parts
Does the new two mode DSC retain launch control which normally runs in Sport Plus mode?

However, I do have one issue with the new version vs what I've read of the old 3 mode version. Specifically, why does it force PASM into sport mode when selecting Sport Plus? I've always preferred a more compliant setup and don't know why they would lock you out of PASM "normal" when selecting "Sport Plus". It seems intuitive that the programmers would retain all of the permutations possible with the hardware and software.

Perhaps there's a setting I'm missing, please enlighten me if so.
Can anyone elaborate on this? Are you saying that it locks PASM in sport mode when engaging the sport button? Or just that it defaults to sport, but you can still switch it back to comfort (ie identical to how it functions stock)? I assume the latter, which I agree isn't ideal, but it's not a deal-breaker.

Short answer, yes it should. The module simply defaults to PASM Sport mode when Sport Plus is engaged

I can confirm that with the new software (2 mode), PASM Sport mode is engaged when Sport Plus is activated. Comfort mode cannot be selected when in Sport Plus (at least not on the version I have), PASM Sport mode is locked in. Sport mode however allows for toggling between PASM Comfort and Sport modes.

Ah, I see. I'm on a 997.1tt, so no Sport Plus.

same behavior as my DSC.

I think there should be an update to make it behave like stock.

i cannot have SportPlus with no sport PASM

I hear you, some like the option of pairing PASM Comfort mode with Sport Plus. The one thing I will mention is that the difference between TPC Normal and Sport modes is more subtle than in prior versions and is really felt when the car is pushed hard (i.e., quicker damping response activated much earlier). The module's 2 modes aren't night & day different like the OEM Normal/Comfort vs. Sport. The difference is more progressive. If you don't already own the TPC module, I would still give it a try, you might be pleasantly surprised.
