just curious as to what folks have seen out of the E85 cars with stock turbo's or even modified turbo's. the smoking tire thread got me a little curious .

As Sam stated and all the data I have collected from different cars it's in the area of ~600whp on stock turbos and ~700whp on upgraded VTGs

There is about 50-70AWHP difference between E85 on a stock VTG verses a upgraded VTG. A tuner that is getting 700AWHP on upgraded VTG's, that same tuner would get about 650AWHP on the stock turbos.

ie. RobTune got 660AWHP on stock turbos and 710AWHP on his 63.5mm upgrade VTG's.

Yep. Curiously enough, all the VTG upgrades regardless of wheels and other supporting mods top out around 710 whp on the same dyno I got up to 660 whp on. The only ones that make more are the CMS 68s with the bigger compressor housings. Those made 780 whp.

Of note, the upgraded VTGs, while not making a huge difference in maximum power, hold on to the power much, much better all the way out to 7200-7400 rpm or wherever you decide to call it quits. My car is down to 580 whp by 7k, at least a 100 whp down from the 63.5s by that same point.

Off the shelf mapping will net you around 600 whp. Basic street tuning will get that up to around 620 whp. Custom tuning on the dyno is required to push it up to what I made. Honestly, the car is violently fast on the "kill E85" mapping I have, and I run it around on the lower 620 whp E85 map, or the E30 map that I have which feels nearly as strong as the 620 whp calibration with a bit less torque, which makes it more enjoyable on the street.

thanks buddy i've been meaning to message you. i sent my logs to todd and he said they were spot on , and he was very happy with what he saw. he said other than maybe cold start fueling he didn't see any changes to be made. i have figured i'm somewhere in the 625-650 range. the car is really strong . but sometimes it does lay down a little on the 1-2 shift even with the upgraded tcu . you ever deal with that ?
