Guys I have 2 blue LED lights on top of the steering column behind the steering wheel they are located on each side of the microphones
car is a 2011 Turbo S and the manual makes no reference to these lights
Does anybody else have these LEDs and I have the ever turned on for you thanks Mike
It's probably a built in radar detector. When I bought mine I had the same LED's. Found out later, I had a k40 laser/radar installed in mine. Dumba-- sales guy at the dealership told me those lights indicated when to shift my tip .
Hey thanks for getting back to meHow do you activate that radar detector and are there sensors in the front and back Did you ever find out where the fuse was located for that detector thanks Mike
It was a K40 Calibre system. My car also had their laser jammer installed.
The laser was turned on and off with a switch on the kick-panel,.. but the radar is operated via a tiny remote control,.. about 1" x 1.5".
Both systems are nearly useless though. The K40 system has no way to mute it after an alert,.. so it flashed bright and alarms loudly for minutes sometimes. It has very poor signal filters,.. so it goes off A LOT. Never when I've had it on, and it's alerted could I find a police car. It is also the poorest performing system on the market.
The laser system is even worse. It only slightly reduces the distance that one older radar can get your speed,.. and does nothing to affect the others. They also will over-heat after 10 minutes and shut off.
Here's a review. K40 has sued everyone that has reviewed their product,.. and as such,.. none of the normal reviewers (Radar Roy for example) will review them,.. or even mention their name.

I removed both systems from my car. Only the 2 tiny lights remain. I have an Escort 9500 in the windshield now.
If you are missing the remote (and yours is indeed the Calibre),.. I can send you one.
Well that's actually great to know. My poor luck, neither the dealer, nor K-40 themselves (after I called them when I bought my car) mentioned that my system had a laser jammer as well. I live in CA where they are illegal. I was driving close to my house one day a few months after buying my car, was given a laser alert, then pulled over by the cop. He said I had a laser jammer and they are illegal. I told him I have a detector not a jammer. He showed me on his gun that he kept getting an error after pointing to the front of my car. He got down, unscrewed it from the front grill and cut it off! I was so pissed! But it's nice to know that I wasn't missing out on much. I do agree that it false alarmed a lot. But it was nice having an integrated system. I used a suction-cupped-to-the-front-windshield V1 and despite it's ugly looks and location, it has been superb in saving me from radar!

The jammer is an option. To see if your car has it,... look in the front grills. The jammers are black boxes,... 1/2" tall,.. x 4" wide,.. and 1" deep. Mine were on home-made brackets,.. one in each of the grills in front of the front wheels.
The system operates separately from the radar system, and is turned on and off with a switch,... and NOT the remote.
The radar system will have 2 radar antennas. One in the front of the car,.. and one out back. They are both about 1.5" tall,.. 3" wide,.. and 4" deep. they would usually be mounted in the center of the car,... and do not need to "see" forward. Radar goes right through the fascias,.. so mine was above the black under-tray,.. and below the front center air inlet. Basically 2-3" above the front black plastic splitter.
The radar antennas are the two things at the bottom of this pic,.. with the white writing on them. one in front,.. one out back.
The other black box that says K40 on it is the brain. mine was below the radio,.. but it could also be in your driver's side kick panel.
The laser jammers look like this. And they MUST be visible to the eye from the front or they won't work.

Or most likely the previous owner (or even someone from the selling dealer) removed all the K40 modules and just left the lights since they are a little more difficult to remove. If you don't find anything more than the lights I'm sure that's the case.
