So I was at a half mile airstrip event this weekend (Shift Sector) and my vbox 60-130 times dropped dramatically from very consistent 6-flat to 6.7-6.9 seconds Sucked because it was the first day of a two day event.


I checked my meth tank and filled it up to the top and then noticed after a few runs that the tank was still full. I've had clogged nozzles in the past and so that probably happened again.


I run 100% meth and would like to use more of an OEM fuel filter if possible as I don't want this to happen again. Obviously my filter isn't working as it should.


Anyone have something they would recommend for 100% meth?

Thx that's more for a generic water / meth system. I was looking for something more geared toward a traditional fuel filter and maybe even something that is serviceable.

I should have clarified that I don't use an over the counter meth kit. It's a custom system with a 3 gal fuel cell feeding steel braided lines and aircraft fittings and looking for what others with custom system that are more in line with an actual fuel system are running.

 

Call Julio at Alky Control in Florida. They have dedicated systems and I'm sure they can hook you up with a filter. I used their kit on my C7 Corvette.

 

That AEM filter model # 30-3003 is serviceable.

The replacement filter is part # 35-4529

The push connector fittings that are included are for 4mm tubing (tiny),.. BUT,.. they attach to the filter body with 1/4 NPT threads

So you could pretty easily dig up an adapter to insert this into your line-set.

Filters to 40 micron.

Their instructions state that their "systems" don;t like more than 50% meth,.. but it doesn't say anything about the filter unit. You could call and ask. (800) 423-0046

Good thing to look out for when shopping for a meth filter is just that you can't use a paper or plastic fuel filter like many traditional fuel filters. Meth is hydrophilic (attracts water), hence why you cannot run paper filters, etc. Here's a good resource on methanol compatible filters.
