I was really hoping for the PDK - Guess I'll get a 6speed again!
I hear now PCCB is an option. I really thought after the turbo S's they would be keeping that the norm on the TT's ...oh welll

I'm on the list at my local dealer. But I am waiting for TTS, DSG, Cab. Looks like 2007 delivery at the earliest.

480bhp is what it's officially rated at in the brochure Eric? If so, I think they hit their target. Assuming the hp number is a bit on the pessimistic side (not unlike Porsche based on history), I think most cars will deliver a realistic 487 to 490bhp once all is said and done.

Was a euro order guide, I believe, so things may change for US cars, but doubtful.

thanks for the info bro. I just passed it onto my father who has one on order. But he is now switching between a 997TT or a 996GT2. I am starting to really lean towards the 996GT2 because of the rareness and the weight of the new turbo cars.

If he's switching because of what MIGHT appear in the US, he should probably wait for official word. This was a euro guide, so things can change, it was preliminary as well.

If he's switching for the 'rare' factor, that's another story. Several GT2's around nowadays for decent price.

How long do you guys expect Porsche to wait until they release the "S" version ... I'm first on the list and I'm thinking about passing or just changing the wording to say I'm first for the "S" ?

Is it worth the wait ... what do you guys think?

I'd wait if it was me. They probably won't release the S until the next year but it will undoubtably be better.

I really think they will. What's the point of the Turbo S if it doesn't even got ~20 hp more than the Turbo.
