Want better bite street pads
I'm used to running Axxis Ultimate, or Stoptech Sport on BMWs. I'm looking for more initial bite.
Whatever is on the car now, has low initial bite, and starts squeaking when warm.
What are your recommendations?

Subscribed.
I'm in the same boat.
Have Pagid RS29 for track. Way too noisy for street.
Was recommended Hawk Blue,.. but they aren't offered for our cars.
Ended up with Hawk HPS instead. But a fly in the ointment means I won't have them in until later this week.

I presume you have steel brakes and not ceramics.
Funny because my steels on my GT3 (same brakes as on Turbo) used to squeak. Stock brakes/pads. Then I went to the track and romped on them for an hour. Threshold braking is my technique. Now, no squeak.

I have done Pagid Yellow PG-29's on my 996T and now my 997T. They are just out right amazing for bite and hauling you down from highspeed again and again. I also took it to the track and man was it a BEAST in 36degree weather, no fade, even with sport cup tires I couldn't induce ABS, but just once, so you know they were getting a work out. Had a instructor drive my car and he was not only impressed with the whole package, but also said the brakes where just solid!
All you need to make the 997T brakes go from great to amazing are the following:
1. Pagid "Yellow" PG-29's
2. Motul RBF 600 fluid
It is hit or miss with the pads for squealing on the streets. I had them all around on my 996T and they had a light squeal. Then I had these on my previous set of pads on my 997T and absolutely no squeal. I changed the fronts (with rotors) last year around September and all was fine. Then I just changed my rears (with rotors) last month and man it is squealing bad! In the pads defense I didn't go to the performance facility (he specializes in 911's for road racing) I usually go to for my brakes and suspension. He usually chamfers the edges and might do some other vodo stuff. I was dropping the motor for larger injectors and someone else installed the pads that is completely alien to turning and braking (they just make power in a straight line).

I just installed new front 2-piece rotors and the Hawk HPS front pads.
My first impression is very good. But you have to take that with a grain of salt. New rotors are rougher than ones that have worn in,.. so they always stop better .
I am waiting on the dampeners for the rears. I have a set on order, a few days out still. My tech has a set he'll give me. I just need to swing over there. I may be able to do them tonight and have some butt-dyno results in a day or two.

That said, they're the best pad I've ever used in terms of performance and I highly recommend them.
