Phoenix* is infamous around these parts
996/997.1 TT High Performance Bearings and Headgasket

Hi Gents,

Could any of you guys advise on part numbers for high performance 996/997.1 main and bigend bearings, along with a capable MLS 1.3mm Headgasket?
And also, who I can source these parts from...

Our current engine has Glyco mains and Clevite big-ends. I'm struggling to find a source for these bearings again, but was hoping to upgrade to better bearings, if possible.

I have searched endlessly on the web, with no success.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
Regards.

997 and 996 big end bearings are not the same. best source for 997 bearings is the dealer.

I would suggest you do the following;

Buy OEM bearings and send them to WPC for their WPC treatment.
They will have less friction and last much longer.

As for a better designed MLS head gasket. You can buy the EVOMS "HellFire" Head Gasket set. The thickness is 0.040" = (1.016mm).

You can also use the EVOMS 10mm Head studs.

Good luck with what you go with.

Did not test upgraded bearings !
But used factory parts and work perfectly , I even ran OEM head gasket with 1000hp setup and it work very well , only forge Rods / evoms head studs !
