Isnt in racing the GT2 a series where Porsche GT3's run ? And that is why when you did a search on a 997 GT2 you got that.
In Car/Driver they interviewed someone from Porsche and he was asked if there will be a GT2 and he stated that yes there will be. Can someone else confirm that from this board I dont have the magazine in front of me.

Is there a possibility that there will be a RWD 997 TT, same horsepower and such, but just RWD.
I believe that would a good idea for porsche due to the fact that some buyers as Fanman Said are deterred from buying the GT2.
Could they possibly even price it cheaper and create a new model range, with less hp but all the Goodies of the 997 TT like VTG and PDK
Just a Thought. I doubt it will happen though

If Porsche builds a 997GT2 cheaper than the 997TT that would really be STUPID !
The GT2 are a rare breed and should remain as such. Like Porsche really gives a crap what I think about it.

So no one has any "real" facts......
I guess time will tell- Until then the GT2 will stay right where it is ...
A dream for some and reality in the form of a 996 GT2 for others.
From what I have personally heard through the grape vine in a little town called Weissach is that the 997GT2 may only be offered in a homologation special for racing purposes. But it will depend on Porsche's involvement and customer demands if this will go through or not..
This will make it as rare as the 993GT2 -
But then again who the hell really knows..........
Just my 02. cents..

You thinks so to, honestly I gotta see it in person. What I have seen I am not particular to it.

I'd be very surprised if there isn't a GT2 since there's been a 993 and 996 GT2. It looks like it's becoming a staple of the 911 lineup.

Good luck to all of you with your 997TT, I am sure you are getting one helluva cruiser GT car. Me I will stay with my "outdated" GT2.

Porsche gets to charge more for less car! Seems like the ideal marketplace to me.

Bottom line its always about the exclusivity factor, there are a many TT's that would leave me in the dust but for me knowing that I have a GT2 is what I wanted and there will always be someone that is faster.
I hope Porsche builds a 997GT2 and I am hoping that it keeps with its theory about the specific version of the car and what it has been with the previous 2 generation's. Would I buy it ? Dont know depends on a number of things.
