Long time lurker looking to get in on the action...
Hey guys, I am looking for some advice on a 2013 TTS currently listed on cargurus:
https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/inventorylisting/viewDetailsFilterViewInventoryListing.action?sourc eContext=carGurusHomePage_false_0&newSearchFromOve rviewPage=true&inventorySearchWidgetType=AUTO&enti tySelectingHelper.selectedEntity=c22961&entitySele ctingHelper.selectedEntity2=&zip=11385&distance=50 0&searchChanged=true&modelChanged=false&filtersMod ified=true#listing=190987426"]2013 Porsche 911 Turbo S
Everything on this one seems to make sense for the price. My only concern is the accident that shows on CarFax
https://www.carfax.com/VehicleHistory/p/Report.cfx?partner=ARN_0&vin=WP0AD2A90DS766175
Did anyone on here own this one? If so, what was the accident like?

The vehicle was involved in a rear collision that disabled it. And it was traded in with the existing damage. If so, that brings up another point. Anytime a dealer buys wrecked cars and fixes to resell, they may take shortcuts to increase profits. Could be a minor accident and the old yuppie owner just didn't want to drive a damaged car from the scene and didn't want to own an accident car, or it could have been major and really was disabled.
It may still be a good car. But be cautious, and do a PPI with a Porsche mechanic AND a body shop. The accident will affect resale, but you will recoup that difference upfront, so it might be a really good deal. Accidents happen and not all accidents are bad. And these cars are meant to be driven. They're not limited, invitation spec Ferrari's that sit in garages. Though the Porsche has the pedigree to spank some sense into those cars and their owners.
I wouldn't be too worried about the accident. People these days are so crazy about not driving cars with prior damage. but I'd shoot for $85k and use the accident as a negotiating tool. I purchased my white 2011 TTS with 34k miles for $90K
too much money given the accident damage.
whats prior accident damage worth in the price? $5-10K ? in discount?
I'd gladly pay another $5-10K for a car that hasnt been apart

I just bought my 2012 TTS without accident history and 31K miles for around that price...
You can do better (as far as finding one without damage).
However, $90k isn't a bad deal...$85k would be nice.

Exactly. I wouldn't touch that car unless the price was $80k or less and even then it would make me nervous. IMO there are plenty of those cars out there in that price range and I would gladly pay $5 to $10k more for a car with a clean record, especially if you are spending $90k plus. Just not worth the risk. It is not like that is a rare car or anything. Forget about that and find another. The milage for that year and kind of car is a bit on the high side too, so its not even low mileage.
