What does the PDK wheel (with controls) use to communicate to the car? I assume a slip ring? Are they discrete wires or is there analog to CAN in the wheel?

The reason I ask is I want to convert over a '07 cayman manual to the PDK wheel from a turbo. I intend to use the flappy paddle to scroll through screens on my aim MXL, etc.

Trying to determine what all I need beyond the wheel and airbag.
