How does the tip end up faster? I know turbo cars are well suited for automatic but 996TT manual was still faster than tip. Now sure what happened. Certainly will be interested to see more people buying tip and if DSG will be out anytime soon.

0-60 In 3.4 W/tippy!

From my email from PCNA:

Allowing the 480-hp 911 Turbo to reach a higher torque plateau in a wider rpm range. Go from 0-60 in 3.4 seconds (with the optional Tiptronic S transmission) and reach a top track speed of 193 mph.

I thought I already had my heart set on the 06 Gallardo but now I really have to wait till this bad boy to get here to make the decision, I mean the performance figures really blow the Gallardo away...and I'll get to stick with the gheytronic again!

but we all know that a 0-60 race is all determined on drivers launching capabilities. One guy could go 0-60 in 5 seconds in the same car that somebody went 3.4 seconds in.

not in an AUTO... in a tip all you do is hit the gas... and in the 997TT you will be there in 3.4sec flat

I got the mailer from Porsche today. 0 - 60 in 3.4! Isn't Porsche usually really conservative with these numbers and it would be lower if tested under optimal conditions?

My thoughts exactly. So do we think that the magazines will get 3.1 or 3.0???? That would be unreal

I think they are taking advantage of the fact that they are known to be "conservative" with their numbers.

In other words, they are giving the actual/real world stats now

But if they are being conservative with these numbers... that would be awesome
