I got mine to drive. Had TPC give it some extra HP (250 extra) and suspension/coil overs. A fast DD more than anything. Not worried too much about impact on valuation, since I suspect my son will inherit it.

Now subtract the cabs and tips that were made because those are not "sought after" models, and just focus on how many MT coupes were made and are still in excellent condition with less than 30K miles today. Project those out for the next 10 years because those will be the ones that will be in high demand
This thread will be interesting to continue to watch! keep it alive!

It's fun to watch today's prices. I bought mine 2 years ago with 33k miles, , paid on the high side to buy from a quality indy dealer, and have put 25k more miles on it. Everything for sale now is more than I paid :-)

Turbos (like every other enthusiast car) have been up the last several months but still seem to be getting outpaced by naturally aspirated .2 6-speeds, especially the C2S and GTS. Now that every new car is turbocharged, I think people are valuing the responsiveness of NA engines as old school and desirable.

Perhaps it’s because I have a 2011 997.2 TTS cabriolet I’m happy to see the values climbing.
I’m super happy with the car so the increased value is nice but since I’m not selling it’s just interesting banter.
I have gotten a few calls from my dealer to see if I wanted to sell. I was considering a Taycan but decided not to pull the trigger. Dealer said now is the time to sell even if you are not buying. I can sell the car in a day bc we have zero inventory.
I told him call me after the season . Love this car and it’s perfect for what I enjoy.
Drop the top mash the right foot and it’s therapy for me.

So true, and not just cars…everything is increasing in cost! I haven’t had my ‘09 MT TT but a few months now and I could already turn a profit, which is crazy. However, I have no desire to sell my TT anytime soon and, fortunately, my wife said she never wants to part with it

.1 vs .2 values
For manual transmission cars, is anyone else surprised that .2 cars sell for so much more? I understand the improvements that were made for 2010-2013, but I thought the Mezger might balance things out in terms of desirability/values. I personally think that over time values will even out and after more time the Mezger .1s will be more valuable. At least that’s what I hope!

I bought mine 5 years ago and paid a premium for the spec and mods. Had no idea it would ever be headed towards 6 figures.. Crazy.
The same thing is happening with my '85 928 Euro 5 speed. Wild times.
