997 Turbo Car Configurator

I just noticed that on Porsche's German version of their website they have the configurator up for the new turbo.

Same with the UK site, its been up for a while...The US always gets screwed...Even BMWUSA drops the ball, they have no configurator for an M6 even though they are being built.....I look at the UK site for the M6 and you can build it

I wonder why they hold back on the Americans, their largest market.

Hey Darren,

I was speccing one out for June production, and Arling was giving me some good advice on colors and options. However, I called the dealer last night and gave up my slot so that someone who wants it more than me can get it.

I like all my current cars and don't want to sell one, and don't need any more cars either. Plus I'm incredible busy. My wife and I are closing on a 68,000 foot office building tomorrow, and that's like buying another business. I've got my hands full.

Better to let someone who really wants the car be able to get it!

I typically don't use the UK or German configurator because the American market cars usually have equipment as standard that is optional in the other markets. It's fun but not an accurate representation of what the actual cost might be on a US market car.
