Is there any downside to getting the external antennae? Will this decrease value at all or otherwise? I love the look.

Functionally I do not think it will help all that much unless you are an AM Radio Junkie... so unless you are running a mobile office with high capacity servers LOL in the car, I can't see why you would want a hole drilled into the roof for an asethic of a sleek antenna.
