you're right about the spool-up of course. though my use of "immediate" (at 2k RPM) comes from Porsche's press releases on the 997TT, and the torque graph that started this thread.

Porsche claim peak torque from 1,950 RPM. To me this suggests that if you were ambling along on light throttle at say, 2K RPM, and then suddenly floored it, you would in fact get (virtually) instant torque. Sure there would probably be the barest hint of lag. Though if you were on part throttle already at that point, the turbos could already be "primed" for full boost. I dunno, i suppose it depends on just how good the new VTG system really is.

Be that as it may, i'm sure there's a night-and-day difference between the 997TT and 996TT in those conditions. on that point, we both obviously already agree

jesus, over boost is amazing! thanks for the graph.... just wondering why the hp/tq numbers dont cross at the same RPMs in both settings.
