i wwent to launch party. no one looked at the 997tt. everyone was getting the food and looking at cgt. this tells you how desirable 997tt will be after the initial 3 mo. the 997tt is also sold at the launch party i went to.

I had a similar experience at McKenna Porsche...I took my CTT in for service decided to check out the 997TT...got no help at all they just blew me off...there were 7 salesman on the floor and I was the only customer, not even one of them had the decency to come up to me. Considering I have owned several Porsches, and I am currently servicing one at the dealer you would think they would treat me with some respect..

This is all sounds very familiar. When I was looking to buy my Boxster S I walked into the two dealers and NO ONE came and spoke to me. insted all the ales reps stood around at one guys office and was BS about baseball. Do not get me wrong I am a huge Baseball fan but there is a time and place. At the time I was driving a company Ford Explorer maybe that is why I was not issued any help what so ever. Since I could not get any help I flew to <st1:City w:st="on">Chicago</st1:City> and drove mine back to <st1:City w:st="on"><st1lace w:st="on">St. Louis</st1lace></st1:City>.

I've only been to one Porsche dealership in my life. (yea, I know... )But the closest one is 3000miles away.. But I didn't even get a glance from anyone there (walked there and was wearing jeans and a t-shirt, 23y/o). However a BMW dealer shared the showroom and when I was looking at some 5-series cars a was treated like a king although I said I was only there to look.

I mean how hard can it be to ask someone, no matter how they look, if they want any help?

i remeber when i first walked into deal two years ago said i wanted a 997s there was one on the floor not sold ,,, i was in shorts flip flops etc. he gave me some runaround BS ... thinks he had an offer waiting for customer tomorrow. i asked if had placed a deposit ,,, no but im sure he will...

i drove twenty mins away bought my first new porsche from other dealer,,, off the floor... the guys did nt give a rats *** how i looked they new i loved the car... i told them i will be buying a 97gt3 when they arive in a few years..

scince then i bought a gt3 ordered new 997gt3 c4s, cayanne snand bought their launch 997TT off the floor.. with no questions asked... i love stopping by the other dealer in every vehicle i own and looking around... sometimes its nice to have the last laugh...with arrogant Porsche salesmen

Me personally, I like when they leave me alone, if I want help I prefer to seek it out. I do want them to be attentive and be able to tell when I'm looking around the room for a salesmen, but at the same time, I don't want them watching my every move like a vulture. But from my experience, there are *** hat salesmen at all dealerships regardless of make. However I remember a particularly rude salesmen at Steve Taub Porsche in Santa Monica that was a jerk. I'd look at the newest car and one time I opened the trunk and the idiot had the audacity to tell me in a very arrogant tone, that the engine was in the rear of the car. Hey ******bag, you just watched me pull up in a 911, I understand where the engine is, thanks! I guess this is why they went out of business. The sales manager was really nice and even though I only came into the showroom to look, he was always cool to me.

This my first post here, but I see alot of familiar owners from the other boards here, so hello!

Many of you have read my story, but for those that haven't, I am north of Los Angeles and bought my car from Porsche of Huntsville in Alabama. These people treat you like family and are probably the most humble Porsche dealer I have ever dealt with - and I know many of the dealers that are mentioned in this thread from California. PM if you'd like to know more about the folks in Alabama.

Anyway, my Turbo is heading home now, here's a couple shots. Should be seeing it this coming Friday:

I understand about the "dont touch me I am sold issue" I was at my BMW dlr and witnessned four 18 or 19 y/o azzhats jumping around in a 750i w/the yellow SOLD tag under the wiper. At first I was like damn must be nice to have a ride like that at 18 or maybe its dads car. I sit waiting for something , cant remember waht it was right at clsoing time. So I tell one of the salesholes that those kids are lucky to have a car like that. He flips out and runs over to yank them out of the car. HE sold it and the buyer was due in any second to finish the paper work haha. They did break the turn signal stalk btw lol.

On my M3 when I purchased it I personally made a sign up on my MS Word and enclosed it in platstic saying. SOLD, NO DRIVING OR MOLESTING" pretty funny it sat in the same spot for 3 days lol.

Actually, it's Slate Grey Metallic, slightly darker than the Meteor. Meteor won't be out until later this year. Thanks for the comments...
